چکیده

Q) is given by eqn. 6. Note that E ~ I will have local minima at 0 = U,, ..., a,. Based on the assumptions of zero-mean white noise and independent sources, we can find the estimate SZ of Q from the minima of(l/N)C,N=, E,Z(0, w) (with respect to 0) which lie below a chosen threshold. Sources whose powers cause the corresponding minima to lie above the threshold (i.e. weak sources) will not be detected.

A Blind Hammerstein Diversity Combining Technique for Flat Fading Channels

Diversity combining techniques play an important role in combating the destructive effects of channel fading in wireless communication systems. In this work we present a blind diversity combining technique for Rayleigh flat fading channels based on Hammerstein type filters. We show that the performance of this technique is very close to ideal MRC system which is accepted as an optimum receiver ...

This paper presents the average symbol error rates (SERs) of the 16-ary phase shift keying (16PSK), 16ary amplitude phase shift keying (16APSK) and 16ary quadrature amplitude modulation (16QAM) with L-fold maximal ratio combining (MRC) and selection combining (SC) space diversity receptions over Nakagami-m fading channels. Numerical results manifested error performance improvement when Lfold MR...

Second-order statistics of a maximum ratio combiner with unbalanced and unequally distributed nakagami branches

In this study, exact closed-form expressions for the second-order statistics of the signal-to-noise ratio at a maximum ratio combiner (MRC) output for a Nakagami fading channel are derived. Using the joint characteristic function for the MRC output and its time derivative, the level crossing rate, average fading duration and autocorrelation function expressions are derived for the case of indep...

Exact evaluation of maximal-ratio and equal-gain diversity receivers for M-ary QAM on Nakagami fading channels

Exact integral expressions are derived for calculating the symbol-error rate (SER) of multilevel quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) in conjunction with L-fold antenna diversity on arbitrary Nakagami fading channel. Both maximal-ratio combining (MRC) (in independent and correlated fading) and equal-gain combining (EGC) predetection (in independent fading) diversity techniques have been consi...

Performance of maximal-ratio diversity systems in a correlated Nakagami-fading environment

The bit error rate (BER) performance of an M branch maximal-ratio combiner (MRC) for the detection of signals in a correlated Nakagami-fading channel is analyzed. Coherent and incoherent detection of frequency shift-keying (FSK) and phase-shift keying (PSK) signals are considered. It is assumed that the fading parameters in each diversity branch are identical. The effect of correlation is studi...
